That Terrible Day: Cain

This painting attempts to link the past with the present by metaphor. Murder and death entered the world as Cain killed his brother Abel, hate rage jealousy and envy consumed him and he destroyed his brother. Ancient legend has it that this event took place in what is modern day Iraq, so I have placed a metal pipe in his hand and there are burning buildings and oil wells in the background. It is oil on canvas 130 x 100 framed in simple timber and is an entrant into the Blake Prize for ReligiousOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Art. $3000
