Theseus and the Minotaur

In the myth, Theseus does what no-one else has been able to do; he fights and kills the Minotaur but I have tried to show his terror in the process. Courage doesn’t mean not feeling fear it is not being overcome or defeated by it but it is there in the most courageous of people as a natural event.  Here his head is deformed as he is whipped in battle by the Minotaur. No-one can fight monsters and come out unscathed. Lumiere acrylic and Sennelier ink on Fabriano paper framed and under glass, 105 x 75. $2000OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
